A power contactor is an electrical device that is widely used for switching circuits on and off frequently and rapidly. As such, electrical contactors are a sub–category of electromagnetic switches known as relays. It is designed to for repeatedly opening and closing a circuit in applications where higher current are involved.
The majority of power contactors are not position sensitive and can be supplied with an auxiliary contact (or feedback contact), which is mechanically linked to the main power contacts.
