The new capacitive coupled TSON MOSFET relays belong to the successful series of so-called Low CxR PhotoMOS®. These relays have an optimized, very low product of C and R of the output transistors. In contrast to the well-known PhotoMOS® the galvanic isolation of the TSON relays between input and output is not optical but capacitive. This offers not only a much smaller design but also considerable advantages in the temperature range, the drive power and the switching times. Thus, the new TSON relays can be operated up to +105°C ambient temperature. The current required for control is typically at low 0.2mA and the input can be operated directly with voltages of typ. 3-5V. A series resistor as required by PhotoMOS is therefore no longer necessary.
